5 Easy Ways to Sneak in Some Exercise Around Your Neighbourhood

Published

on

Been feeling tired and stressed lately? Not surprisingly, exercise may be the answer you’ve been looking for. Besides relieving you of stress, exercise has been shown to boost energy levels, so if you’ve been looking for an excuse to exercise, there it is! Unfortunately, not all of us have the time or the money to go to the gym, so we can’t all get the sculpted bodies as we see in the movies. The good news is, though, that exercise will make you feel great, so you don’t even have to do it to look good, just because it feels so great! If you’re pushed for time, here are some easy ways to sneak in some exercise in your neighborhood.

Go for a walk

If you already walk your dogs, then great news: you’re already exercising. If you don’t have a dog, however, you can still go for a quick stroll through the neighborhood. Organize a walk with your neighbor or friend, put on some comfortable clothes, and time will fly, and you won’t even realize it. Even a 15-minute walk will prove to be extremely relaxing.

Playground Equipment

Who said playgrounds were just for kids? If the local playground is empty, then you can use the equipment for yourself. Use equipment that is low off of the ground to aid you in doing pushups, or reach for the monkey bars if you can manage chin-ups.

Bike, don’t drive

5-minute drive to the station annoying you with the traffic? Don’t put up with it. A bike ride to the station or bus stop takes only a little longer than the drive and has the added benefit of exercise. So good news if you grabbed a place far from the station one of those houses and land packages!  living, for example, will give you plenty of opportunities to exercise!

Wake up earlier

Too many things happening in the day that you can’t fit in exercise? Simple: take some time. Waking up a little earlier will give you ample time to go for a run, which will set you in a great mood for the rest of the day.

Play with your kids

Making some time to play with your kids is important: not only will they be happy with the extra attention, but you will burn quite a few calories in the process! Just another reason to be a good parent.
