Combining Different Types of Cosmetic Surgery

A lot of cosmetic surgery patients undergo the knife multiple times because the effects of the procedures produce satisfying results and they want to experience the same results over other parts of their bodies. Some cosmetic procedures are so related to one another that they’re performed in conjunction more often than not. Others don’t have as much in common but are still performed one after the other, if not simultaneously, to help patients achieve the body of their dreams.

These cosmetic procedures, some of them seemingly dissimilar, are commonly performed in conjunction with one another to enhance the effects of the procedure and better reach aesthetic goals.

Tummy tuck and liposuction. Liposuction is often performed alongside a tummy tuck and helps remove excess fat and tissue before the muscles and skin of the abdominal wall are tightened. Liposuction may be necessary as part of any cosmetic skin tightening procedure because the fat deposits are often located in difficult-to-remove areas.

Face, neck, and brow lift. A facelift doesn’t exactly target the entire face, as the name implies. A facelift focuses on the central area of the face that mainly includes the cheeks, not the forehead, chin, or neck. If the skin covering the cheeks is significantly tightened during a facelift, a brow lift and/or neck lift may be in order to help create consistent skin tightness and texture.

Thigh lift and buttock enhancement. A thigh lift removes excess fat deposits, often through liposuction, and tightens flabby skin to create shapelier legs. This procedure often addresses the buttock area as well, as the two are connected. A thigh lift is sometimes combined with a buttock enhancement to create an even shapelier body, and fat transfer can be employed by moving the excess thigh fat to the buttock area.

A full-body lift. A full-body lift is most often performed after a patient experiences significant weight loss. The procedure targets the arms, thighs, abdomen, and breasts to remove excess fat and skin, contouring the body. Breast augmentation with implants is sometimes performed, but often a breast lift is sufficient to contour the breast area instead. Liposuction is often used to remove excess fatty tissue from the arms, thighs, and abdomen. The body lift procedure is much like a combined tummy tuck, breast lift, thigh lift, and arm lift, and maybe accomplished through a series of surgeries.
