By the time carbonated beverages can be integrated back into their diets, many find that they no longer crave them and simply forego them altogether.
Another change that needs to be made immediately is a strict eating schedule. The patient will need to eat three meals a day with two snacks in between, without ever skipping a meal—skipping meals forces your body into starvation mode and actually can cause you to store away foods rather than burn them for energy.
The transition into following the lap band diet following surgery can be difficult, just remember to take it one day at a time and before you know it, it will not feel like a diet at all.
