Protect Yourself At Work

Tyvek coveralls were created by Dupont and are made from flash-spun, high-density polyethylene. They are designed to provide optimal comfort to the wearer and provide improved mobility and a wider range of movement. The coveralls are soft and light. Although they are permeable to water vapor and air, they can still repel aerosols and water-based liquids. Hence, these properties of Tyvek coveralls ensure that they find a wide range of uses in different industries.

Uses for Tyvek Coveralls:

Healthcare Facilities: Due to the protection offered, the coveralls are widely used in healthcare facilities and laboratories. They protect the wearers against blood-borne pathogens and also shield the wearer’s skin and clothing from coming in contact with infectious pathogens.

Agricultural Industry: These coveralls find use even in the agricultural industry, both in manufacturing as well as crop production. The coveralls are worn in fertilizer manufacturing units by workers to reduce and minimize skin exposure to chemicals. On farms, they are worn by workers while spraying or using fertilizers.

Oil and Gas Industry: The coveralls offer protection against solid particles right up to 1 micron. In addition, Tyvek coveralls are resistant to low-level liquid aerosols. These properties allow oil and gas industry workers to protect themselves during industrial cleaning and maintenance and also during land clean up.

Beekeeping: The seamless coveralls can be used in beekeeping, as they do not allow bees to accidentally enter and get trapped in the sleeves or other parts of the body.

Automotive Industry: In the automotive industry and body shops, when workers are spray painting, handling lead, and working with asbestos, coveralls are used as protection. In addition, these coveralls help to keep workers clean.

Utilities: Utility workers come in contact with many hazardous particles and liquids. Coveralls can protect them from chemicals, especially when working in sewage systems, wastewater management units, and sanitation.

Nuclear Industry: The coveralls are also used in the nuclear industry, as they protect wearers against radioactive dry particles and light splashes. This lightweight, comfortable and breathable coveralls can protect the wearers against radioactive contamination, but do not offer the same level of protection as a full hazmat bodysuit.

Industrial Cleaning Industry: Tyvek coveralls are also worn by workers employed in the industrial cleaning industry. The coveralls can be used during remediation applications and industrial cleaning. They also offer protection during asbestos removal, as the coveralls do not allow asbestos particles and fibers to come in contact with the worker’s skin or clothing, thereby ensuring that the particles and fibers are not inhaled.
