The effect of Kratom on the brain

The effects of it are similar to stimulants and opioids. The leaves have two compounds namely 7-a-hydroxymitragynine and mitragynine. The compounds interact with opioid receptors found in the brain.

This produces sedation, decreased pain and pleasure especially when you consume large amounts. Mitragynine interacts with other receptors in the brain to yield stimulant effects.

When you take it in small quantities, you can have increased energy levels, alertness, and sociability instead of sedation. However, some users have reported uncomfortable and dangerous side effects after using Kratom.

The value of kratom

Kratom has been used in recent years as an herbal alternative to treatment in an attempt to control cravings and withdrawal symptoms caused by opioids addiction or addiction to other substances that are addictive such as alcohol. However, there is no substantial evidence to scientifically prove that it is safe or effective for this purpose.

The use is not illegal, but it is essential to consult a medical practitioner before using. Using Kratom alongside other medicines or drugs can cause adverse effects and even death. Always use kratom when it is vital and not because someone else is using it. Also, avoid using it excessively because it is addictive.
