Women that want to refresh their beauty in non-obvious ways are increasingly opting for cheekbone enhancement procedures. Most are non-invasive and even your closest friends will have a hard time figuring out what is different about you. When properly done, the augmentation procedure looks natural and symmetric.
This is a procedure that is popular with the 20-40-year-old crowd and is a simple fix for those without fully rounded faces, or sunken cheeks. Imagine being able to finally put blush on and have it noticeable! There are 4 popular ways to do this procedure and here is a list that goes from least invasive to most permanent:
- HA Fillers– Gel products that are natural, the body produced substances are a great way to first experiment with cheek enhancement. Restylane, Perlane, Prevelle, and others are easy to inject and manipulate or mold to the shape you want. The doctor doing the procedure can offer you a mirror to look and see how you like the results. If you aren’t happy then they can make changes at the time. It’s the least permanent of all products, but the results are immediate. The lifetime of the product is around 6-months. Ha, filler procedures are reversible, in that they have a limited lifetime. If you don’t like the results, they will fade away within 6-months.
- 2. Radiesse-This is a product that is also moldable when injected, but it’s much thicker and stiff. It’s not an HA, but a chemical by the name of hydroxyapatite. It lasts up to a year, so you will want to be a little more critical of the end result. There could be an incidence of lumps and such afterward. You’ll have to massage them out over a few days time period. A doctor with much experience in this procedure will be able to prevent this from happening normally. They can give you the best instructions on how to smooth out the results when and if this happens.
- 3. Sculptra- Sculptra is one of the longest-lasting of any injectable product. The reason is due to it not being filler, but a collagen stimulator. You won’t see the results of the procedure for up to 4 months afterward. The body will gradually build up collagen and fill in the areas that have gotten the injections. It takes a series of them separated at 4-week intervals. The two critical things regarding this procedure are confidence in the skill of your doctor and the time you’ll need to commit to the project. There’s no real downtime involved, but it will require more office visits and hope that the results are what you want and expect. Don’t let the initial price of Sculptra scare you off. It is more expensive than HA fillers, but it lasts longer and has a more natural feel. The experience level of the doctor should be higher and all of this costs more money initially but will save you costs in the long run.
- 4. Cheek Implants- This is a surgical method to permanently enhance the cheekbones. It requires some downtime, anesthesia, and an operation to implant a device that will hopefully give you the permanent results you desire. They are normally inserted through cuts made on the inside of the cheeks, through the mouth. There will be pain and a healing process. If they are not implanted evenly, it could require going under the knife again to correct it. These are all things to consider before agreeing to a cheek implant. There will be noticeable swelling and bruising after this procedure. You will want to make sure you take plenty of time off from work; if you don’t want it known that this was done.
Making the Choice
There are more choices than ever before in getting a cheekbone enhancement procedure accomplished. The right choice for you will depend on how permanent you want it to be, how much money you are willing to spend, and how much time you can afford to donate to the results. All of them have the ability to offer the desired results, but much will depend on finding the best doctor to perform the procedure that you can.
