Constant Nausea – Are You Pregnant or Sick?

If you are sick, you get nauseous violently and suddenly, whereas if you are pregnant, nausea starts out progressively and continues for a longer period of time. Nausea can be a fleeting feeling or you can have constant nausea. Brief nausea can be a result of certain odors, fear, anxiety, motion sickness, or other factors. If it persists, nausea can be caused by chronic disease, infections, pregnancy, or external factors.

If you get nauseous all of a sudden, this could be due to food poisoning, inflammation of the gall bladder or pancreas, migraines, or a reaction to the medication. Nausea that comes gradually could be due to pregnancy, metabolic imbalances, or other specific conditions. If you are constantly feeling nauseous, not just in the morning, then it probably isn’t pregnancy.

This could be symptomatic of some kind of trauma or infection. In some rare cases, it could result from a brain injury. If the feeling is becoming unbearable and refuses to go away, by all means, contact your doctor so that you can be prescribed the right medication. Do not just buy whatever it is you have heard people take when they are nauseous.

It could be harmful to your health, not to mention the health of your unborn child if this is the case. Do not make attempts to ignore constant nausea. It may or may not lead to vomiting, but if it does, you risk getting dehydrated and facing the respective consequences.

If it is pregnancy, you should know that the degree of nausea and vomiting differs depending on the woman in question, so you probably won’t get much out of commiserating with friends except emotional support. Some women only feel sick in the morning, but in more rare cases you could feel sick constantly and vomit several times a day.

Usually, nausea disappears after the first trimester of pregnancy. There is an unlucky few, however, who continue to experience these symptoms for as long as five months after conceiving.

Nobody can say for sure why nausea and vomiting occur during pregnancy. It is most likely a result of blood sugar imbalance or hormonal fluctuations. Many health care professionals think that morning sickness is more common in women, who are pregnant with twins or triplets, but this claim has not been substantiated.

The majority of pregnant women begin experiencing morning sickness between the first and second month of pregnancy, but the feeling of constant nausea can occur on the day after you have conceived. Some women have experienced no nausea before the 20th week of pregnancy, while the luckiest ones never get it. If you are not sure and do not remember eating anything foul or drinking too much, just get a pregnancy test.
