What once was done by using a single bucket for several rooms nowadays is done by using a single disposable mop head pre-saturated with a cleaning solution which in term helps in keeping cross-contamination to a minimum.

Color-coding your cleaning equipment can be a good way to keep this under control as well since you’ll be able to recognize and use certain tools for certain jobs, thus keeping it all as nice and clean while avoiding the contamination of other surfaces.
