Are You Suffering from Chronic Inflammatory Arthritis?
There are two main kinds of arthritis. The first is osteoarthritis. The second is chronic inflammatory arthritis. This article will be focusing of the second kind and how to naturally deal with the symptoms. The most common way that people deal with their joint pain from arthritis is through anti-inflammatory and non-steroid drugs but there are a number of problems like heart, kidney, and liver disease that have been connected with their usage. Not many people are enthusiastic to take on those risks but there are alternative ways to treat it.
Some of the common herbs used to treat inflammatory arthritis are ginger, boswellia, skullcap, acacia, turmeric, hops, feverfew, white willow bark, and holy basil. These are supplements that have been discovered to help ease muscle inflammation in a number of different combinations.
Boswellia has been used for a long period of time for inflammation treatment for people dealing with pain and stiffness in their joints. Herbalists are quick to discuss it’s effectiveness for chronic arthritis. Boswellia contains boswellic acid. That is the primary effective component. You want to find products that contain this ingredient.
Ginger has a history of dealing with inflammation effectively as well. It prevents the creation of cytokines in the body. They’re the part of the immune system that creates inflammation. It also works through another popular method as a COX-1 and 2 inhibitor. That prevents the creation of prostaglandin. That can help lower inflammation levels. It also helps the body with circulation to transport the nutrients throughout the inflamed areas for healing.
In China, Skullcap was used as a treatment for inflammation for many years.
Turmeric goes by the name Curcumin as well. It’s been a part of medicine around India, Asia, Central America, and South America for years. Also for it’s anti-inflammatory qualities. The curcuminoids have actually been shown in clinical studies to reduce problems with inflammation. It’s a great antioxidant that can be used to combat free radical problems throughout the body.
Hops and Acacia have a long history of being used for soreness and inflammatory treatments.
Feverfew was originally taken during the 1rst century for headpain, menstrual problems, fever, arthritis, and just about any pain or ache. An experiment was done in England that showed that Feverfew can reduce problems with pain after 3 to 4 months of regular usage. It’s believed to work similar to COX-2 inhibitors. It can help the body manage thymidine. That will ultimately lead to less leukotrienes being produced by the body. That is what is responsible for muscle inflammation.
White willow bark is an aspirin like treatment that doesn’t have any of the dangerous side effects. It can be taken to help deal with colds, fevers, infections, headaches, pain, and rheumatic problems. Another clinical study was done in England about White willow bark at the University of Exeter. It was completed in the Complementary Health Studies department. The experiment was included a placebo group and showed that the group taking white willow through Reumalex showed more joint pain and symptom relief from chronic inflammatory arthritis than the similarly administered placebo. That was after only 2 months.
There are hundreds of different supplements that you can consider to help treat your inflammation in the body and this is just a basic overview of a few of them. You need to speak to a health professional before you change any treatments for your chronic arthritis you choose to take or not take especially if you’re already on any kind of medication.
