According to the same institute, high intake of garlic protects against stomach and colon cancer. This effect was not confirmed for other types of cancer. You can increase the effect of garlic when you take it in its raw form – fresh or cloves.

Garlic lowers blood pressure

If you have high blood pressure, garlic can help in maintain it in the healthy range. However, this effect is also observed in people with normal or low blood pressure (hypotension).

Garlic treats fungal skin infections

Consuming garlic may be a form of treatment for certain fungal infections of the skin. According to some studies, the application of garlic on the skin has a positive impact on the alleviation of these infections.
