Liberty HealthShare Empowers Members To Control Their Health Destiny

Published

on

Healthcare costs continue rising nationwide, prompting many Americans to seek alternatives to managing their medical expenses. Liberty HealthShare provides a faith-based sharing model in which members support each other’s eligible medical bills through monthly contributions.

Liberty HealthShare members gain access to detailed information about how their monthly share amounts help others within their community. Through a personalized and secure online portal called ShareBox, members can submit bills, communicate with dedicated team members, and track sharing activities.

ShareBox technology streamlines communication between members and Liberty HealthShare’s dedicated team members. This secure platform facilitates the efficient sharing of medical bills and necessary documentation.

This online portal gives members 24/7 access to their sharing information and they can easily monitor sharing status and update their information when needed. There’s also a PrayerBox to request prayer and encourage others.

“There is no doubt that we are a different path than other healthcare options, including how it works and how we describe the various components,” Liberty HealthShare Chief Executive Officer Dorsey Morrow explains. “The biggest difference, I think, is that we are member-focused.”

Liberty HealthShare Programs Meet Diverse Needs

The ministry offers several sharing programs designed to accommodate different healthcare requirements and budgets. Members choose programs based on factors such as family size and expected medical expenses.

“We’ve got a number of programs that somebody can select whatever works best for their family,” Morrow adds. “As well as, with the healthcare sharing ministry and Liberty in particular, you can join our membership, and if you determine it doesn’t work for you, you’re not locked into it. You’re free to move to another program, another ministry, or some other option.”

Member Success Stories Highlight Satisfaction

Members regularly share positive experiences with the ministry.

“I appreciate Liberty HealthShare paying for my annual wellness visit and mammogram. I have peace of mind knowing you are there for any catastrophic event which I may encounter. I believe Liberty HealthShare is fair and cares about people,” Jane Smith mentioned on libertyhealthshare.org.

Another member, Sandra Goff, discussed calling Liberty HealthShare after an issue with an emergency hospital visit bill arrived. “Toni at Liberty HealthShare was amazing! We got on a conference call with hospital billing and got all the issues worked out. Very Thankful,” Goff said on the website.

Debbie Boyd also shared a favorable encounter as a Liberty HealthShare member. “I have been a member of Liberty HealthShare for seven years, and have always appreciated how kind they are any time I call for assistance,” Boyd wrote. “Liberty HealthShare is a good Christian health sharing organization, and my experience with them has been very good!”

Working With Providers To Reduce Expenses

Liberty HealthShare collaborates with vendors to help reduce medical expenses for members. This systematic approach benefits the entire sharing community by maximizing resource efficiency.

“We do a lot of that negotiating on behalf of our members with the providers,” Morrow notes.

Behind every healthcare decision is Liberty HealthShare’s commitment to Christian principles. Members unite around shared values while supporting each other during medical situations.

Members maintain control over their healthcare choices while participating in a supportive community. Monthly contribution amounts remain consistent unless program guidelines change, helping members budget effectively.

“We’re a nonprofit, so a lot of the medical providers are for-profit, which we don’t object to,” Morrow says. “We simply want their profit to be reasonable. It should be a fair and reasonable amount, and so that’s how we work.”

Community Support Strengthens Relationships

The sharing model strengthens connections between members who support each other through prayer and financial contributions. This approach highlights personal responsibility while maintaining community bonds.

“That’s certainly one of the things that we push,” Morrow says of making its members feel more like family. “We’re always looking for opportunity to improve, and I welcome ideas on this. Certainly, communication is paramount. We do our best to share the experience of individual members, the success stories they have, or the trials they’re going through via our newsletter, our website. We want to give them every opportunity to be a part of the family.”

Morrow adds that part of fulfilling members’ needs is acknowledging that “there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to healthcare,” Morrow informs. “We understand that. It’s why we work hard to support our members. We are there for our members and understand that they have different situations, different circumstances, and so we want to be there for them to help fill in that gap.”
