Let’s face it; there are just so many diets out there that promise to help anybody lose weight fast. The one big question, however, that requires answer is this: do they really work? And which of the very many fad diets published in books, in magazines, and in articles really and truly work?
There is one diet that many people say really works, and it’s called the Morning Banana Diet. Now you may be wondering what the Morning Banana Diet is, where it came from, who discovered it, and how many has used it? And does it really work?
The Morning Banana Diet
As the name suggests, it is somewhat self explanatory, isn’t it? The diet consists of eating banana in the morning. But there must be more into it than just that! So let’s find out and dig some more!
This diet originated or started in Japan, and this has caused a major uproar there because of a very famous Japanese opera singer named Kumiko Mori who claimed that she lost a total of 15 pounds by simply eating bananas in the morning. The morning banana diet was developed by a preventive medicine practitioner in Tokyo named Hitoshi Watanabe. He and his wife who was a pharmacist by profession made the diet popular in Japan.
The diet, popularly known again as Morning Banana Diet, requires anybody who wants to lose weight to eat only bananas in the morning together with room-temperature water. How many bananas, you might ask? Well, as many as you like. But only bananas and water in the morning – and again, room-temperature water only. Now here’s the good part: for lunch and dinner, you can eat anything you like, as long as you don’t eat after 8 o’clock in the evening, and you are only allowed to drink (for all your meals during the day and night) room-temperature water. You also have to stay away from any form of dairy products, dessert especially ice cream – after dinner! That sounds easy, right?
Does It Really Work?
A lot of people have looked into the diet to see if it really works. Many who have tried said it does, and the possible reason why it does work is aplenty. One possible reason is that bananas are heavy in the stomach, and once you eat one or two bananas, you immediately feel full and thus will not like to eat anything else. Another reason why it works is that bananas plus water is a low calorie diet, and if this is done regularly – the eating of bananas and water only in the mornings, caloric consumption will really be lessened which can ultimately result to weight loss.
Now here’s the thing: any good diet will work, as long as they are followed strictly. When choosing a particular diet, just be sure that you consult your doctor and ask for his or her counsel on the matter. Your doctor knows best what will work for you, so keep him in the loop if you plan to lose weight.
