You will need:
- 6 laurel leaves
- Water 2.5 dcl
- 6 tablespoons sugar (it is best to use brown sugar)
- 1 lemon
Heat the water. Add the laurel leaves and cook them with the lid closed for 6-10 minutes. Remove the laurel leaves, put the liquid in a container in which you will cook the syrup afterwards, then add the sugar and strain the lemon. Stir well to melt the sugar. Take one teaspoon of the syrup several times a day. Take one teaspoon every time you feel that you will have an intensive cough attack.
The syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for several days. You can consume it in both ways, cold and warm.
If you have other symptoms of a cold as well, it would be useful if you take one slice of lemon after the syrup, and chew it. The syrup is very effective in preventing dry cough.
