In another study that was conducted by Kansas State University researchers, patients who had plants in their hospital rooms enjoyed a speedier recovery. Patients who had plants in required less pain medication had lower blood pressure and experienced decreased anxiety and fatigue.

Because plants release oxygen, they may be able to improve cognitive functioning. A study that was conducted by The Royal College of Agriculture in England found that students were up to 70 percent more attentive when they were taught in classrooms that had plants. In addition, the study showed that students were more likely to attend lectures in rooms that contained plants.
