Sure, a day at the spa is a time to pamper and spoil yourself (or, more accurately, for the spa to pamper and spoil you), but did you know that many spa treatments have health benefits in addition to just making you feel amazing? Quality spa treatments can improve your physical, mental, and spiritual health. Here are a few ways that going to the spa can positively affect your health.

When performed properly by a professional and licensed massage therapist, massage can have many health benefits. Massage treatments can relieve aches and pains, improve circulation, strengthen the body’s connective tissues, improve posture, and strengthen the immune systemand those are just the physical benefits. Mentally and emotionally, massage can reduce stress and tension, improve mental alertness, and promote more restful sleep.

Lymphatic Draining Massage
Lymphatic draining massage has specific medical benefits, especially for people who have had lymph nodes removed and then developed swelling. Lymphatic draining massage can reduce swelling while returning body fluids back into proper circulation. Proper lymph flow positively affects the body’s immune system, drawing out metabolic waste and toxins.

A quality massage therapist will speak with you before and after a massage about specific conditions or issues with your body.
