6 Cheap and Natural Ways for Mom to Get Rid of Stress

Published

on

Being a mom is stressful. Sometimes, we just need to take some time and de-stress. There are a lot of great, natural ways to go about this, and they don’t have to cost a lot of money.

Learn Basic Yoga

Some basic yoga techniques are not only easy, they’re great for relaxing. You don’t need to have tons of flexibility or balance for the mountain pose. Downward dog is a common one to help you star stretching and relaxing. You can learn yoga by going to classes, watching videos, or even looking up tutorials online.

Take a Bath

When you really want to relax, make yourself a home spa. It’s simple. Run yourself a bath and make sure you have some candles. Put some rose petals or bath salts in the water. Relax in the bath for as long as you want. Consider playing your favorite music, or you can leave it quiet; it’s up to you. If you like reading, take a book in with you. This is your time.

Find Inspirational Videos

Head online and you can find tons of inspirational videos. Just watching some of the videos from Ed Young can help you relax and feel better. These videos don’t take a lot of time, they make you feel great, and they’re free.

Keep a Journal

At the end of the day, writing out your feelings is a huge relief. You don’t have to write in a journal every day or even every week. Being able to write when you want to or need to, however, is important. Having a private place to put your thoughts, emotions, and dreams can help keep you sane and de-stressed. Whether you do this with pen and paper or on the computer is up to you.

Learn Meditation

Meditation is not always an easy thing to learn. If you’re extremely stressed out, though, it’s important. Sit in a quiet spot and start breathing in and out slowly. Try to clear your mind – yes, this can be the most difficult part. In fact, for a lot of people, this is the part that takes the longest to learn. However, the more you practice, the more you’ll get it. Another option for meditation is to focus on one thing. A color, a sound, or even your own breathing are great options.

Take a Nap

While it’s not healthy to sleep too much, it’s also not healthy to get too little sleep. As a mom, it’s likely that you’re not getting enough sleep. It’s okay to take a nap once in a while. If you’re exhausted, you’re going to feel more anxious, stressed out, and angry. Just go lay down, relax, and sleep. Everyone will be happier for it.

As a mom, you have a tough job. Make some time for yourself, and make sure that you decompress every once in a while.
