Being overweight is not just about being forced to try and find clothes that fit you and worrying about the way you look; now it is a serious problem that can affect your health and even shorten your life by up to nine years.

Unfortunately due to the lack of promotion by the government not a lot of people know that being overweight and obese can lead to serious health issues which include: the risk of type 2 diabetes, some cancers, and heart and liver disease.

When we talk about Type 2 diabetes we would in the past be talking about people over the age of 40 having this serious condition but now due to the changing of the world and the increase in obesity, Type 2 Diabetes is being found in the young generation from the age of 20 and 30. Doctors fear if the obesity problem is not sorted out and if we do not start taking care of our bodies then Type 2 diabetes will become even more common and could become the norm when it comes to teenagers and young children.

By losing weight and becoming slimmer, these obesity health issues can be avoided and people who are overweight and lose the weight and have a happier and healthy lifestyle.

Claire Hegarty who would like to see the diet industry come under stricter control by the UK government and would like the diet industry to provide 100% proof that their fad diets work, has watched over the years as leading diet companies’ profits have increased while the people who have followed their diets have struggled to lose any real weight.

It is not just Claire who has watched the diet industry make millions each year out of people’s misery, a leading professor by the name of Joseph Projetto wanted to know why obesity has become such a huge problem when all these diet companies claimed their diets work and can make people slim.

The professor of medicine at the University of Melbourne decided to do a study of diet companies and find out if they really did work or was it all just a marketing campaign to make millions of pounds. He decided to do a study of 50 overweight men as well as studying 50 overweight women to find out if diets would work for them.

Professor Joseph Projetto put the men and women on his study on a strict diet, this diet involved all the men and women involved being on a 550 calorie diet for a total of eight weeks. The study continued for a year to find out if the men and women were losing weight and if the weight would stay off.

Some of the men and the women did lose weight but the majority of the overweight subjects put the weight back on over a 12 month period,  and as the professor suspected, a large number of them put on even more weight than they first started with which was not expected.

He professor found that diets were making people hungry and moody and were not a good way to try and lose weight. The research found that the people who took part of the study were constantly thinking about food due to hunger and this resulted in some of them snack eating to control their hunger issues.

The result of the diet study did not go down well with some of the leading weight loss companies after the professor declared that diets were not a good way to lose weight and in fact, the professor reported that most diets do not work.

He said:  “We found that the majority of people regained all the weight, plus more. Sustained weight loss was found only in a small minority of participants, while complete weight regain was found in the majority. Diets do not lead to sustained weight loss or health benefits for the majority of people.”

Claire Hegarty who launched a free weight loss campaign in 2013 offer men and women free advice on losing weight by calling 0151 678 3358 or 07714853524 agrees with the study.

She said: “Over the years I have seen a huge number of people visit me to lose weight who has explained over an average of five years they have spent £50,000 trying to lose weight without any real success. This is why the diet industry needs to be properly control by a watchdog to stop people from being ripped off by fad diets which are not working for them.”

Gastric Band Hypnotherapy has been classed as the real answer to weight loss. Celebrities who once upon a time used diets to try and lose weight are now using Gastric Band Hypnosis to lose weight and keep the weight off and now normal men and women are following in their footsteps and using the hypnotic technique to lose weight instead of wasting thousands of pounds on diets that do not work.

Unlike diets, Gastric Band Hypnosis works by finding out why men and women are putting on weight; it looks at compulsive eating issues, stress as well as addiction problems. When the problems that are causing someone to put on weight are found, the man or women then undergoes a number of techniques which deals with confidence, will power among other solutions to weight loss and then the final step comes in where the man or women is led to believe they have a real gastric band inside of them.
