How to Know if Are You Gluten Intolerant?

Published

on

Did you know that more than 55 diseases have been traced back to gluten? Gluten is the protein that is found in wheat, rye, and barley. Recent studies show that almost 99% of the people who have either gluten intolerance or celiac disease are never diagnosed.

Most people have no idea they are gluten intolerant. If you have any of the following symptoms you could be a sign that you have gluten intolerance:

1. Digestive Issues

Do you feel bloated; have gas, diarrhea, or even constipation. If so look at your wheat and gluten intake and see if you can try to illuminate it for a week. See if your digestive system improves.

2. Chronic Fatigue

Do you feel tired a lot? Do you have brain fog or often feeling depleted? People who are intolerant to gluten especially feel tired after eating a meal that contains gluten.

3. Neurologic symptoms

Do you feel dizzy often, such as dizziness when you are just standing up or even sitting down? The feeling of being off-balance is a common sign of gluten-intolerant people.

 4. Migraines

If you get migraines often it could be from your diet. Choose healthy fresh vegetables and see if your headaches dissipate.

5. Oral Health Problems

If you have tooth pain, a lot of cavities or gum disease it could be linked to certain another disease that is caused by gluten intolerance.

The best way to see if you are intolerant is to eliminate it from your diet and see how you feel. Try doing this for two to three weeks.

If they feel a lot better when you are off of gluten and feel worse when they reintroduce it, then gluten is likely a problem and you should consider yourself gluten intolerant.
