Sloth, the most satisfying of the seven deadly sins. Everybody likes to pig out every once in a while but new research has shown that aside from the obvious health issues caused by over-eating there is another, more personal, a side effect of your midnight trek to the fridge.

The most obvious negative effects of the poor diet include Coronary Heart Disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, constipation, joint pain, and being out of breath. All of these carry significant implications for your continued well being and are important enough to be a reason for the change in themselves.

Eating the correct foods can really affect how your body functions and behaves. Eating the right food can make your body strong: it can help fight illnesses, it produces healthy skin and it helps the body continue ticking over normally.

Some of the effects of healthy eating will be noticed pretty quickly. For example, a healthy diet can:

  • Help you maintain healthy body weight.
  • Give you more energy to enjoy all kinds of physical activity, like sports, dancing, or just the daily grind.

But the physical effects of poor eating don’t just mean poor body image; it may also mean that you are not able to perform as admirably in other areas… deeply personal areas in which no man wants to be seen to have a problem.

What many impotent chaps are unconscious of is that their weight can factor in their condition. Scientists at the Harvard School of Public Health concluded that a sedentary lifestyle and the resulting increased likelihood of obesity can be one of the reasons for impotence!

In the study, obesity was specified as a body mass index of more than 30 when the weight in kilograms was divided by the square of the person’s height in meters. Of the men in the study who reported having impotence, a gobsmacking 80% of those were also obese or overweight.

Many of those classified as obese were additionally diagnosed with debilities such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease, which also contributed to their becoming impotent. Combined, these conditions have been shown to cause impotence in men mostly because there is a failure in the body’s blood circulation, unfortunately resulting in their ongoing erectile dysfunction.

So what can you do about it? Researchers at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, have found a link between an increase in exercise and a healthier diet that leads to increased sexual potency among men of all ages and in particular older men. They also recommend that men be told that their sexual health is at risk if they become obese,  as they are more likely to undergo a regular exercise and diet regimen as a result.

And finally, some top tips on how to easily improve your diet:

  • Eat less! Simply reduce the amount you cook and take your time to eat it. Eating slowly will trick the body into believing that you are fuller than you really are.
  • Drink more water! It is recommended that you drink a good amount of water each day; not only is it good for you but it can also help prevent you from feeling hungry.
  • Eat your veggies! You should have listened to mother – veggies are low in fat and high in nutrients and really should form an essential part of your diet.
  • Eat more rice and baked potatoes! Again low in fat but high in energy these natural wonders are also easy to cook in an abundance of different ways.
