Top Five Unusual Anti-Ageing Secrets

Published

on

Are laughter lines, wrinkles, and crow’s feet getting your down? If so, you’re not alone! Many people fight the signs of aging and will do anything for a soft, smooth complexion.

Here are five of the most unusual anti-aging secrets around:

Bee venom beauty products

Believe it or not, bee venom is included in many beauty products and is thought to be a pain-free alternative to Botox. According to reports, it tightens the skin by increasing the production of collagen and is popular with celebrities including the Duchess of Cambridge, Victoria Beckham, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

The vampire facelift

The vampire facelift is a new type of cosmetic surgery that helps to reduce wrinkles – using the patient’s own blood. During the procedure, a sample of blood is taken and the platelets are separated from the red blood cells. These platelets are then blended with a fibrin mixture that is injected into the skin. Most dermal fillers are made from Juvederm or Restylane, but it seems this isn’t adequate for some people.

Vitamin drips

Are you getting enough vitamins? If not, you could splash out for a vitamin drip like The X Factor judge and music mogul Simon Cowell. If his unofficial autobiography – Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell by Tom Bower – is to be believed, the star has regular colonic irrigations and intravenous vitamin injections to keep him looking young.

Placenta facemasks

Yes, that’s right; celebrities including Jennifer Lopez are reportedly going crazy over placenta facemasks. Rumour has it that these unusual products are made from placentas taken from live human births, or from other animals including pigs, sheep, and goats. The placenta contains nutrients that are believed to freshen up the skin – but would you give it a go?

Ceramic crystal injections

If you want to achieve the complexion of a porcelain doll, ceramic crystal therapy is for you. Small crystals are injected into your face using fine needles and are thought to remain underneath your skin forever  – It won’t change the shape of your nose as Rhinoplasty would, but it will give you flawless skin. Each session can cost anywhere from $500 – $1500 and model/actress Jerry Hall is believed to be a fan.
